- This is an incredible honor for us, says CEO at SEAM, Gunvald Mortvedt.

- It is time to think differently, it is time to think in unison. We need companies that show initiative and find better solutions and new paths, says Siren Sundland.

She is executive director of Sparebanken Vest and chairman of Agenda Vestlandet, the foundation from Sparebanken Vest.

- We award the Handlekraft-award because we want to showcase inspiring success stories from the business world in Western Norway. The four finalists are companies that have shown the ability to create new, green products and services, says Frode Fjeldstad, director of awards at Agenda Vestlandet.

- The finalists who have been nominated for the Handlekraft-award represent the best of business in Western Norway. We hope many will be inspired by them!

The candidates for this award are nominated by Næringsforeningen Haugalandet, Sogn og Fjordane Næringsråd, Bergen Næringsråd and Næringsforeningen i Stavanger region.

SEAM, based at Husøy on Karmøy, is one of the finalists to win the award. Since 2016, SEAM has had a focus on developing green maritime solutions. The company now has 95 low- and zero-emission vessels on the reference list and 170 employees spread over offices in Karmøy, Stord and Bergen. Together with its customers and partners, SEAM has contributed to an emission reduction of approx. 250,000 tonnes of CO2.

- We have come a long way and the development we have had in the Norwegian maritime industry in the last ten years has only been possible because the industry has been open to change and has had a genuine desire to make maritime operations greener. And let's not forget the support apparatuses around us that have contributed with funds and research, says Mortvedt.

Mortvedt is very happy about the recognition and nomination.

- This is incredibly meaningful for us, for our employees who work tirelessly to achieve the green projects with our customers, and for the local environment. We at Haugalandet know that there is a lot of exciting things going on here and that the people here have an incredible will to persevere. This nomination makes it even more clear to the rest of Western Norway that Haugalandet is an important hub for maritime development and technological development. We hope as many people as possible will take part in voting for SEAM, and Haugalandet, concludes Mortvedt.

The winner will be announced at the Vestland Conference in Bergen on 11 February.
